With more than 25 years of experience in the concrete business, John Higginbotham has developed significant expertise across the broad spectrum of concrete, masonry, and supplies our customers need to complete their building, renovation, and landscape projects. He is responsible for the day-to-day operations of R.W. Sidley’s southern concrete plants in Alliance, North Canton, Youngstown, Warren, Slippery Rock, and West Middlesex. John has direct oversight of production, maintenance, scheduling, and personnel, working within these functional areas to achieve key performance metrics for each location’s productivity, profitability, and safety. John ensures materials, supplies, and equipment are available for employees to carry out production and keep pace with market demand. He also develops and implements continuous improvement activities to assist each site in reaching its goals.
John holds certifications through the American Concrete Institute (ACI), Ohio Concrete (OC), and the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA). Having these industry credentials helps ensure the materials and products we supply to our customers are produced to the highest quality standards. John lives by the advice “work hard to always get and be better,” which provides him with the motivation to tackle the challenges that come with juggling multiple competing priorities occurring at different places.
Outside of John’s concrete life, he enjoys camping, hunting, fishing, attending an occasional truck and tractor pull, and watching football.
